far as the East is from the West

The simple fact that a man would choose to give up His life for something much greater than He. One choice years ago, still has the power to change lives.

Jesus Christ, a man created by a miracle, carried one of the greatest powers. Jesus knew what he carried, this drew thousands of people to him as well as away because of that power. He chose to take part in what his Heavenly Father was doing on Earth, lose his dignity and lay it all down for his Father. He chose to surround himself with the people others simply did not want to be around, the lowest of the lows. He challenged the High Priests and did all that his Father asked him too. He died as if he was a sinner!! (just let that sink in for a minute! A perfect man who carried such an intense power and love for people / the world chose to give that all up so every person IN THE WORLD could live a life of freedom!!! [wow, I have heard this story so many times but the more I hear it the more meaningful it is!!]) His choice to be killed, mocked, hated, and beaten so that you and I could live a life where we are forgiven and freed is the best gift anyone could receive. Because of this simple man who CHOSE TO SAY YES, who CHOSE to give up everything he had & listen to his Father, WE ARE NO LONGER SLAVES TO SIN!!! WE ARE NOT SINNERS SAVED BY GRACE!! We are free 10 times over, because Jesus died on that cross to pay for every wrong doing past/present/future and we are not to be held by bondage!!! The moment we recognize what was done for us on the cross and we accept that into our heart we are a BRAND NEW CREATION IN CHRIST!! We are not a fixed up sinner who is prettied up to be a “good Christian”. The old you “sinner” died on that cross when you accept Jesus into your heart. You are now a CHILD OF THE KING.

As a child, I was taught about what the meaning of Easter was. The older I have gotten and the more I have chosen to let God speak into my life, I now realize the power in Easter / the Gospel.

I recently was able to help explain what Easter meant to my little sister who had never even heard of Easter 3 years ago. She reminded me that Jesus had such a great power in Him and that is why he was able to do what He did. Since God will never leave us, he thought about Jesus dying on the cross with that great power. This is when Holy Spirit showed up, “and the Holy Spirit descended in Him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from Heaven: ‘You are my Son, whom I am well pleased.’” Luke 3:22. Holy Spirit came to live here on Earth in each and every one of us so that we can receive the EXACT same power as Jesus. All we have to do is say “Yes”. My 7 year old sister having no knowledge about Easter knew about the power that Jesus carried and learned that people everywhere can carry the power that Jesus carried.

The power of Jesus’s resurrection can rock nations, people groups, your neighbor. Many people LAY DOWN THEIR LIFE for the Gospel because they realize the power. A simple man chose to say “yes” again and again. I am learning to say “yes” and I pray that you take the next step with Him and say “YES”!!

Father, we want more of you. Every moment we want more revelation of who you are and who we are in you. We want to grasp the power that we are destined to carry, the power that can change the world one “yes” at a time. We cannot thank you enough for the way you love us. You keep all of your promises. We love being your children. Holy Spirit GIVE US MORE!!!! We want that same power that Jesus carried. I love you.
