far as the East is from the West

As I was packing up my room, I took down some prayers that I had taped up to my wall. One of them in particular stood out to me. I was praying for a friend who was going through a hard time, asking God to defeat Satan. When I wrote that prayer two and a half years ago I still didn’t understand that God has already defeated Satan!! I thought that it was still an ongoing process & battle. Yet, I now know that Jesus won that battle on the cross, He won when I fully committed my life to living the way that I was intended to, He wins each and every time we say ‘Yes’. He won & we are not still fighting. He won & the enemy is still trying to get off of the ground. Even when it seems as if we are still going back & forth, trying to do this or that to ‘defeat Satan’, we are just wearing ourselves out. WE DONT HAVE TO FIGHT! We are whole individuals who have a purpose, who are human, who get knocked down but when we can take a look at all that our Father has done for us, we (I) am in awe.

As I was taking communion, I realized when I was younger I would confess sins or strive to be different then the next as I help the cup in my hand. I now know that communion time is not a time to feel sorrow for myself or mistakes I have made. Yet, to rejoice in my freedom that was given to me as I began a relationship with my Heavenly Father.  I do not need to compete or strive to earn love, I am already totally enamored. I don’t have to strive for victory but I embrace it in full. The love that was given as a result of victory.

It all comes down to love. How much do you love someone that you are willing to do anything for them. As a human being, how much do we yearn to receive love? If that love is already being handed to you, why don’t you take it? Don’t just take it in parts, here and there yet, take all of it. That unique love was designed just for you. You are special in all of your wonder. Because of that love given to you, choose to show others that unique, exceptional love. Go for the hard places, speak love into the fear and watch it be transformed.

You are loved. You are noteworthy. You do not have to strive. You are VICTORIOUS.
